Acivico/Birmingham Council
Birmingham Council were keen to address the repair and maintenance issues in cemeteries across the City. The authority’s engineering and maintenance division Acivico, engaged with Rio Surfacing via approved contractor approval systems to complete a rolling programme of major and minor schemes to carry out the much-needed surfacing repairs to roads and footpaths, including associated lining works at a number of cemeteries. Working in collaboration with the client and site grounds team, Rio Surfacing surveyors carried out a detailed survey of the site to establish the most cost-effective way of completing as much of the resurfacing required with the allocated budget. Obvious health and safety concerns were also itemised and completed including resetting/replacement of inspection and drain covers, levelling of uneven kerbing and temporary pothole repairs. All projects were completed on time and within budget with no disruption to the operation of the cemeteries.
Our client commented that Rio Surfacing provided “excellent all-round service and well thought out planning”…”excellent H&S including managing members of the public”…….”delivers a great all-round service from initial survey through to completion” working in schools, cemeteries, childrens centres etc.
