As an expanding University Campus, additional parking facilities were required to accommodate increasing staff and student numbers. An existing area of unused land within the campus was identified and designated as suitable for permanent car park usage.

Following a site investigation, it became evident that the existing site storm drainage system was not suitable for traditional car park construction, therefore alternatives to traditional drainage had to be considered. Ground percolation testing confirmed the existing sub strata was suitable for a fully permeable installation and would also provide an environmentally friendly solution. This was presented to the local authority and accepted as supporting documents attached. Tarmac ULTISuDS Asphalt system was successfully installed complete with permeable resin finishes and the project was delivered within the client’s timeline.

Alongside the car parking areas, this project also included footpaths, lighting, EV charging, landscaping and lining works.
