As an expanding Academy, St Augustine’s had the requirement to provide additional staff parking working within their compact site. The challenge was to provide additional spaces whilst maintaining much of the existing grassed areas on the site. Programme for swift completion within 2 weeks was essential. Works included: Bulk Excavation, Kerbing, Permeable Subbase and Asphalt installation, Road Markings, Paving Repairs and Landscaping.

Following a site investigation, it became evident that the existing site storm drainage system was working at capacity, therefore alternatives to traditional drainage had to be considered. Ground percolation testing confirmed the existing sub strata was suitable for a fully permeable installation and would also provide an environmentally friendly solution. Tarmac Ultisuds Asphalt system was successfully installed and the project was delivered within the client’s timeline. Other construction projects were ongoing at the site and interaction with other trades was maintained successfully.
