• Princess Alice Retail Park – Car Park Resurfacing & Lining Works

As a well-used and popular location for the surrounding area, the car parking areas had become heavily worn and were in need of urgent surface repairs to improve site conditions and remove major health and safety concerns and risks. The main entrance to the site serves both the Tesco Superstore and the retail/leisure park and careful consideration had to be given to offering a suitably timed programme to enable an effective and safe method of working. Tenant liaison and communication was essential to ensure all site users were fully aware of the proposed works and the timing of delivery. The Rio Surfacing team made individual appointments with all unit operators to ensure that programme and phasing was put in place to accommodate the works while maintaining as much available site use during opening hours.

Works involved the removal of aged and worn macadam car parking bay surfaces and replacement with HD Asphalt Surface Courses, block paving areas in running lanes and pedestrian areas were taken up and re-laid to correct levels, concrete kerb repairs, linear drainage channel replacement and cleaning, tree surgery and soft landscaping, construction of compliant disabled access facilities, service yard concrete repairs and sitewide thermoplastic lining works.

We have since been engaged to carry out additional works at this site – as well as many other locations for this client.
