As Rio Surfacing Ltd are ranked 1st on an NHS Framework for Civils Works, we have completed many projects across the various hospitals in the Trust.
This particular project involved numerous specific requirements in relation to upkeep and maintenance of the Good Hope Hospital Site – public and staff external parking, pedestrian areas, and circulatory roadways.
- The removal of existing self-setting trees by specialist tree surgery operatives, pruning and shaping of hedgerows and bushes and general landscaping (including new shrub and tree planting) to new car park boundary.
- Removal of existing temporary stone surface and preparation of ground area for new construction.
- Installation of new perimeter kerbing and combined timber knee rail detail.
- Complete construction of new surfaced parking area including sub bases, asphalt binder and surface courses and thermoplastic line marking.
- Disconnection and removal of redundant parking meter and introduction of pole mounted visual guidance signage.
- Construction of new pedestrian access footpaths including levelling to verges, installation of new precast concrete edge detail, provision of hard pavings including precast concrete block and slab paving, asphalt and macadam surfaces and disabled friendly directional tactile and demarcation paving.
- Relocation of protective guardrail to create safe movement zone for patients from car park to ward entrances.
