Over time, the communal paved and surfaced external areas of this residential development in Edgbaston, Birmingham, had developed numerous issues associated with years of wear and tear and general surface age related failure. There was widespread deterioration of the existing surfaces causing estensive rutting and pothole issues. Following the planned maintenance scheme and a survey of the areas by the property management company, they decided to engage Rio Surfacing to address these issues. After close consultation with the residents, working in normal hours, across 3 days, the Rio Surfacing team, planed off an area of 2,568sqm, resurfacing it with proprietary binder (base course) and surface course (wearing course) , along with thermoplastic line marking, drainage cleaning and clearance and general making good on completion. Careful planning enabled us to finish the works within the timescale agreed with minimal disruption to residents, who were kept fully informed as works progressed.
