The car park was in need of refurbishment following years of exposure to weather and the constant use of vehicles, which had badly damaged the tarmacadam, and showed many signs that it had reached the end of its natural lifecycle. Due to the wear and tear that had been caused over time, the retail park were also subject to an increase in costs for accident claims therefore Jones Lang LaSalle turned to Rio Surfacing Ltd. After consultation, Rio Surfacing offered a long term solution which would address the requirement for a quality tarmacadam repair and refurbishment system, a decrease in lost revenue, whilst offering minimal disruption to the car park.
Rio’s team of highly skilled Operatives carried out a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing car park area, which included planing off and resurfacing the existing car parking bays, and machine laying 60mm of AC 20 dense binder course and 40mm of SMA 10 surface course in accordance with BS:EN xxxx standards. Thermoplastic line marking was then applied over the 2,294m2 area to complete the project. Due to the necessity of keeping as many car parking spaces available as possible, Rio’s technical and practical expertise proved essential.
